Program


Objectives

Thisprogramaimstocultivateall-roundtalentswhohave a knowledge of many anengineeringdiscipline,andurbanandregionalplanning.Aftercompletingthisprogram,candidatesareexpectedto(1)becompetentinengineeringdesigningandcityplanning;(2)beequippedwiththeoreticalknowledgeofgeography,economicsandmanagement,andpracticalknowledgeofeconomicdevelopment,urbanmanagement,andrealestatedevelopment;(3)beeligibleforresearchingonormanagingurbanandregionalplanning;and(4)beoftheability

toapplytheoriesandmethodsofscienceandsocialsciences.












RequirementsofResearchAbilityand OtherAspects

Priortothedegreeapplicaiton,candidatesshallmeetatleastone of the followingrequirements:

1.  Publishingatleastonepaperinprofessional conferenceproceedingsatoraboveprovincial-level,orattendingprofessionalacademicconferencesandreceivingatleastoneinvitationforpresentingtheirpapers(Note:Forthepapers,XiamenUniversitymustbethefirst-authoraffixation,andcandidatesshallbethefirst-authororsecondauthorwiththesupervisorbeingthefirst).

2. Participationincityplanningcompetitionsatoraboveprovincial-levelandwinningthefirst,secondorthirdprize,orahonorablementionforatleastonetime(Note:XiamenUniversitymustbethefirst-authoraffixation,andonlythefirstthreeprize-winnersarerecognized.)

3.PublishingatleastonepaperinspecializedjournalswithCNserialnumbers(Note:Forthepapers, Xiamen University must be the first-author affixation, and candidates shall be the

first-authororsecondauthorwiththesupervisorbeingthefirst).
